AWIMSA’s impact is made possible through collaboration with like-minded organisations that share our commitment to women’s empowerment and industry transformation.
Our partnerships focus on creating opportunities for training, mentorship, and employment by bringing together the strengths of academia, technology providers, and industry leaders. Current partnerships include the University of Johannesburg, Matrix Design Africa, Leica-Geosystems, and Hexagon.
We invite companies to partner with us through sponsorships, bursaries, or the donation of technology that supports training and innovation. Every contribution helps us expand opportunities for women and communities. All funds raised through sponsorships and donations are used transparently to support skills development, community outreach, and bursary initiatives.
Looking forward, AWIMSA plans to expand its footprint through national bursary programmes, mobile digital learning labs, and smart farming projects that reach rural and mining communities. These efforts will help more women and youth access education, skills, and meaningful work and entrepreneurial opportunities with the collaboration of more partners from civil society, public and private sectors.
AWIMSA’s progress is built on strong partnerships and shared purpose. Our current collaborations are transforming lives, and our future aim to reach even further.
The University of Johannesburg has been instrumental in helping us design and deliver accredited programmes that align with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Together, we are working towards launching a bursary fund that will support young women studying STEM-related subjects at universities and colleges across South Africa.
Matrix Design Africa continues to lead innovation in mining safety and automation. Through our collaboration, we are creating practical learning opportunities and field-based projects that expose women to real mining technology. Our goal is to expand this partnership into full training and innovation hubs.
Leica-Geosystems and Hexagon have played a key role in sponsoring women in short learning programmes such as 4IR Tech Advancing African Women and African Women in Political Leadership where participants gained accredited certifications that improve employability. Moreover, introducing women to advanced geospatial and automation technologies. The next step in our partnership includes developing a dedicated training centre for digital mapping and surveying.
